LATEST NEWS

May 19, 2019 – Southwestern Team traveled to Oyster Bay, NY to compete in the New York State Championship this last Saturday.  It was a tight top 4 spots, and our team secured 3rd place overall, just 3 points shy of the top 2 teams (who tied for 1st).  Great job to our team, and to our newest sailor who got to compete at States as her first regatta!

May 7, 2019 – Our Annual That’s Amore Fundraiser will be held on July 20th so mark your calendars!

May 6, 2019 – Our youngest sailors traveled to Buffalo this past weekend to compete in their first ever regatta in the 420s. It was an exciting time and the team had a blast, placing 8th overall. The future of our sailing team looks bright!

March 31, 2019 – The Southwestern Sailing Team placed 1st overall in Rochester at the NYISA-NW Fleet Racing Qualifier yesterday, securing a slot to advance to Annapolis, MD and compete at MASSA Gold Qualifier in preparation for MASSA Nationals later in the season. Congratulations team!

We’d also like to welcome the new sailors who will be joining the team this spring!

Adult courses will be starting soon, there’s still time before April 16 to sign up. Just contact us for more information or Jamestown Community College directly to register.

March 21, 2019 – The spring HS Sailing signup meeting will be held tonight at 7:00pm – 9:00pm at the Lakewood Village Auditorium, refreshments and pizza will be provided. Anyone interested in signing up or wanting to learn more about the programs should attend. We will have current sailors and the coach available to answer questions.

We’ve had some changes made to our spring regatta schedule, so be sure to update your calendars to the latest print out.

Mar 11, 2019 – CLCSF along with Southwestern High School will soon be starting their first ever Sailing Course offered as a gym class for the spring of 2019. We are very excited and look forward to the new course lineup.

The Spring Regatta schedule has been posted. The High School Sailing is currently holding open registration, please contact our coach, Hunter Farris, for any questions or to register.

Nov 10, 2018 – The Fall sailing season has come to a close with the arrival of snow and winter weather. We are hard at work planning some new exciting programs for the upcoming spring season. Please check back as we  begin to release information on those projects around February!

As always, for information about any of our programs, or general questions, please contact us at sail_clcsf@gmail.com at any time.

Oct 23, 2018 – Southwestern Team traveled to Fort Monroe, Virginia over the weekend to compete in the MASSA Gold Fall Fleet Racing Championships. Weather conditions cut the 2 day regatta short, and Southwestern secured a solid 10th place out of 18 teams from the 4 mid-Atlantic states representing all 5 MASSA leagues. It was a great experience, one that Southwestern has qualified for every season since they began competing in 2015.
