Apr 14, 2018 – The Southwestern High School Sailing Team is currently competing at Christchurch, Virginia this weekend for the MASSA Gold National Championship! Go Team! Wishing you the best of luck out there on the water today and tomorrow, and a safe trip home.

Apr 11, 2018 – Our Adult Sailing Course will be starting up next week on Tuesday, April 17th! This course is in conjunction with Jamestown Commnunity College, so if you are interested in the course, please check the JCC page link for more information and how to sign up. If you’re a litter nervous about learning to sail in this weather, don’t worry, the first half of the course is held in a classroom setting. You’ll take your first sail in May when the weather is warmer.

Apr 9, 2018 – We have our boats in the water! High School practices have officially started for our competing teams. The boats and practices are currently located down in Celeron til we move the docks back to their main location at Lakewood Beach. 

Feb 13, 2018 – CLCSF Meeting Set for March 14th – The Chautauqua Lake Community Sailing Foundation is holding an information and signup meeting for the 2018 High School Sailing Teams.  The meeting is at 7:30 p.m. Wedsnesday, March 14th, at the auditorium above the Village Clerk’s Office, located at 20 West Summit Street in Lakewood. This meeting is for prospective team members, boys and girls (grades 7-12) and their parents/guardians. Students from all area schools are welcome to attend.  Also in attendance will be returning team members and parents. The team head coach will review the overall program and specifics for the spring season.. Preregistration discounts available prior to first day of practice. Pizza and drinks will be freely available to everyone in attendance.

February 10, 2018SPRING SAILING SIGNUPS ARE OPEN!

High School Sailing will begin practices in mid-March when the lake has thawed, with our spring signup meeting on March 14th..

We will be once again joining with Jamestown Community College to offer sailing courses for adults during the spring semester. The course will include classroom discussion & sailing in the z420. For more information on the course, please see our link or contact the JCC.

April 3, 2017 – We had 3 high school teams competing this weekend at Buffalo Yacht Club, placing 1st, 3rd and 4th overall.

March 27, 2017 – We are please to announce that high school practices have begun! The start time has been pushed back slightly and is now 4:30pm – 7:00pm, Monday through Thursday.

Great day of racing! The top 6 qualify for Atlantic Coast Championships and we are tied for 6th after 1 day of races. Races ended do to light wind. We improved as the day went on ending with a 3rd so hopefully we can keep that momentum into tomorrow!
